Josh is a song writer...

Josh's class did a project yesterday about songs. He decided he wanted to write his own song (this is not the first song he wrote) and sing it for the class. These are the words to the song:

Why did you leave me down on the ground. When will you come back down? I'll wait until the end of time just to see your face again. Ye-ah I miss you. I want to see your wonderful face. I want to hear your wonderful voice. I want to know your still alive. I miss y-o-u. I want to know your mine. I know your up in heaven it just helps me to think like that. I'll be able to see you again but for now ooh I miss you. -Joshua

He was 3 when his dad died. He is 9 now. It is amazing how fast the time goes by. I found some old home videos the other day that we recorded while the kids were playing a few months after Jake had died. In the video Josh was 4 and he sang song after song that he was making up about his dad dying. I am so glad I have that and I plan to get him on tape singing this song. He is such a sweet spirit. I am so thankful that I was blessed to have him. All my boys are just angels put on this earth to help me love and enjoy life. I love them all so much. I feel so blessed.
*his teacher gave him an extra point for the song:)

New York City!

Curtis took me to New York at the beginning of October. We had such a good time. It was a work trip and one of Curtis' co-workers brought his wife along. Tara and I had a great time visiting the MoMA and shopping during the day. We went to dinner at night with the guys. We saw a Broadway show on the last night. It was called "In the Heights". We had a great trip together. I love this guy so much!

Happy Birthday Jacob!! Sept. 16

Jacob turned 5 this year. He is so excited to be growing up. He is a great kid. He loves to do all kinds of work. He loves to cook, clean, garden, fix things, build things and watch anyone working on anything. He is a great help and a special spirit. Jacob is one of the best people anyone can spend time with. He is happy and smiling all the time. He loves learning new things and catches on to things very quickly. He learned to tie his shoes when he was 4 by watching me teach Jordy. One day he asked me to tie them when I was doing the dishes so I told him I would when I was finished. He sat down and said that he would do it. Suddenly he started shouting, "I did it! Look mom I did it" sure enough he had tied his shoes all by himself. Jacob loves BYU football and wanted mom to make a BYU football field with a football on it for his cake. He helped with the cake and all the dishes.
Jacob was a special gift from my Heavenly Father and Jake. I am thankful everyday that I was blessed with him in my life. He has made my life happy and full. He has been an angel since I found out I was pregnant with him and my life wouldn't be complete with out him. I love you Jacob!

Happy Birthday Kalten!

Kalten turned 8 this year and was baptised by Curtis. It was a great day. Grandpa Gary spoke at the baptism. There was also a big game for BYU on that day and we had a big party for him with a BYU cake. They won and it was a great day for Kalten.

Sorenson Work Party!

This year Curtis' company had the family party at our house in the backyard. We had a dinner and then swimming, basketball, and fun in the bounce houses. We had a great time. The best part was they set up the bounce houses up about 3 hours before the party. Jacob was the only one home when they were first set up. I have never seen a happier 4 year old. 3 bounce houses all to himself. It was so cute! We had the neighbors come over after school to enjoy them for about an hour before the party. It was a big hit with everyone involved.

Camers!

Cam is such a sweet boy. He is learning to walk around furniture and with push toys. He smiles and giggles all the time. He say oooo ooo ooo with his little mouth so rounded (second picture). It is darling. He is a very easy baby. We all love him so much. He is still a great sleeper and very content. He loves seeing his daddy after work. He likes to play outside with the big boys on the playground. He is a great addition to our family!

Back to school!

Jacob is in "second grade preschool" which means 4 year old preschool. He loves school and is so smart. He is excited about learning new things and making new friends.
Josh is going to 4th grade. He is a very good student and very smart. He has a very high reading level and loves reading.

Jordy is starting 1st grade. He is so excited to go all day and eat lunch at the school. He has a lot of friends and is very smart. He is learning to read.

Happy Birthday Jax and Dakkon!

Dakkon and Jax turned 12 this year. They are 2 days apart. They both received the Aaronic priesthood on the same day. It was even more special because it was also Mikey's farewell that day. Jax had Mikey ordain him, and Dakkon had Curtis ordain him. It was a busy day but we were able to fit everything in. It was a really great day.
Dakkon and Jax are best friends. They call each other their almost twin brother. They share a room and really enjoy playing together. They are both very helpful with the younger boys, and they are great examples.
Jax has made my life so happy. He is a huge blessing to me. I am so proud of the young man he has become. He can run the household if needed. He is a great babysitter and helps out around the house more than any other kid I know. He is getting straight A's in 7th grade. He is a joy to have in our family. All the boys look up to him. He is told by everyone he knows that they love how he is always smiling. He never complains and is as close to a perfect person that exist on this planet. I love him dearly and thank my Heavenly Father for blessing me with such an amazing person to raise. I know Jake is proud of him and loves him so much. Curtis and I are awed by him everyday and love him.
Thanks Jax for being the example you are!

Lake Powell Family Trip 2009

Lake Powell is one of our main family vacations each summer. We had so much fun this year. We missed the T Boys but had all the J Boys with us. We also took along Mikey and his friends, Dantley and DeeJ. Along with them we had Traci, Abby, Carly, Jace and Trent & Adela joined too. We had a blast. Jax and Josh were really feeding off of the competitive side of the "Big Guys" which made them perform their personal best. Cam was an angel and had a great time. Jacob and Jordy enjoyed the boat rides, going down the slide, swimming, and playing on the beach. Jax, Josh, Julie, Mikey, and DeeJ all tried the back flip. Josh and Mikey were the closest to landing it. We also got good at the surf board. Adela and Abby were first timers that got up. Jace was a first timer and mastered it. Jax was able to master it and I got a lot better too. We all had a lot of fun. It was one of the best trips we've had down there. It was a great way for us to spend some time with Mikey before his mission too. He left just 2 weeks later. Curtis, Josh, and Cam

DeeJ's world got a little rocked from this back flip!

Curtis wake boarding:)

Jax getting some nice air! He started the week with just a foot of air and by the end of the week he was getting 4 and 5 feet of air...it was so awesome!

Josh doing a superman! Josh likes to go for the extreme tricks. He started this week getting a couple of inches of air and by the end of the week was nearly landing back flips. He didn't even warn us that he was going to do one. He got about 2 feet of air one time and then the next time he went for the back flip! It was so fun to watch him!!!
